The Guelbenzu's family background in the world of wine began several generations ago. Their wines have a great body, are really fragrant, full coloured, with the grapes and wood well assembled. The Guelbenzu's family has been elaborating them since 1851, when their first winery was created, in Cascante's family home. It is a pretty Indian style mansion dated from the end of the 19th century, surrounded by gardens and vineyards. The cultivation of vineyards in the village of Cascante is a very old tradition that began more than 2000 years ago. In fact, in the winery there is a museum where we can find very interesting Roman pieces, related to this activity, which were found in the property some years ago.
The guided visit around Guelbenzu's property will take the visitor through the winery's yards and gardens, the Museum “Algorises” and the wine’s production process. This visit can be completed with a tasting session of three different wines (which come from the Guelbenzu's wineries of Chile, Aragon and Navarra) or of a selection of six Guelbenzu's wines. The prices of these "catas" (tasting) are of 3 and 6 € respectively.
