In the neighbouring village of Cintruénigo we can visit a beautiful
Renaissance building: the Church of San Juan Baptizer, whose
cathedral like dimensions and the set of star shape vaults in its interior does
not leave indifferent whoever contemplates it. Besides, we can find the Basilica
of “la Purísima”, the first temple in Spain
dedicated to the Marian dedication. Its major altarpiece, dated from the 17th
century, venerates the Immaculate Conception and the central sculpture of the
Virgin is a Romanist image.
