If there is a place where time suddenly stops, this is Tulebras, where only wind
breaks the silence in the first female monastery of the Cister Order
that was built in Spain. Its nuns of closing, who nowadays show the monastery
to the visitors, have been living in it since its construction in the 12th
century. The church dates from the 13th century. The monastery’s hostelry
is opened to visitors. You can stay in this quiet hostel, a place to rest, to
think, to meditate. There is also a catering service for guests, where the
Sisters of Santa Maria of the Charity serve home cooked dishes elaborated with
vegetables and fruits from their own garden.
